Took a drive to Cripple Creek today, not to take pix but to search once more for the beautiful Gold Camp Road that I used to take from Colorado Spring to Cripple Creek back in1969 when I was a runaway here. I loved that drive.
I've searched along roads in West CO Springs that have signs touting Gold Camp Road, but when I look I can't find it.
Today, on the way out of Cripple Creek, we spotted a Gold Camp Road sign on a dirt road and took it. It took a while to get to the Springs and I didn't recognize where we came out. But I'll definitely be going back.
